Legal Aid
Chadwyck Healey Solicitors operates under the LSC legal aid scheme, The LSC awards civil legal aid to those who meet certain conditions: by testing financial means and legal merits tests laid down by parliament.
The LSC Funding Code sets out the help that we can provide and the requirements that you need to meet. In general the financial eligibility tests look at a client’s income and capital. The legal merits test looks at factors such as the case’s likelihood of success.
If you are one of the following groups of people you will be automatically
eligible for Legal Aid
-those who are under the age of 16
-people aged 16 or 17 with no income and living with their parent or guardian
-people under 18 and in full-time education
-those on unemployment benefits.
